Benefits of Fostering With Us
There are many benefits of fostering with us. Here are some of the benefits we can offer you.
Personalised Support
We are a small team, which means that we can get to know you and your family, as well as the children and young people in your care. This enables us to provide you with comprehensive support tailored to your needs.
Competitive Pay and Allowances
At New Routes we value our Foster Carers as part of our professional team and offer a competitive allowance that reflects their time, experience and skills. You will also receive additional allowances including loyalty payments, holiday allowances, and extra allowances for birthdays and religious festivals such as Christmas, Diwali and Eid.
Help at the end of the phone
If you need any support, there’s always someone at the end of the phone. Because life doesn’t stick to 9-5, we offer an out of hours support line to assist you whenever you need it.
We listen to children and young people
The welfare of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. We have a Children’s Panel which provides an opportunity for some of the young people who are living with our Foster Carers to formally interview prospective Foster Carers who are in the application process. The young people also have the opportunity to talk to prospective Foster Carers on a more informal basis as part of an activity where both come together to construct an item out of recycled materials. To date, a robot, pirate ship, castle and a cat have all been constructed with much fun along the way.
Our support wraps around your whole family, ensuring that any birth children are listened to and supported as well.
Over 30 years’ of experience
New Routes was established in 1992, so we have over 30 years’ experience of recruiting, training and supporting foster carers. Our experienced team doesn’t rest on its laurels – we continue to update our training and qualifications to make sure we always provide you with the best service.
Membership of Foster Talk
We pay for our Foster Carers’ FosterTalk membership, which provides a wealth of benefits. From financial advice to peer support.
Part of Father Hudson’s Care
New Routes is the fostering service of Father Hudson’s Care, a social care charity that supports a wide range of people experiencing difficulties. This means we have support from a wider team of professionals so we can focus on providing a high quality service to you.
