Pay and allowances
At New Routes we value our Foster Carers as part of our professional team and offer a competitive allowance that reflects their time, experience and skills. You will also receive additional allowances including holiday allowances, and extra allowances for birthdays and religious festivals such as Christmas, Diwali and Eid.
As a Foster Carer, you will receive a weekly allowance. This includes a maintenance allowance for the child and your fee as a foster carer.
The rate is determined by the age of the child you are caring for, the number of children and complexity of needs.
If you are caring for 1 child, you will receive £400 – £465 per week.
If you are caring for 2 children, you will receive £800 – £930 per week.
If you are caring for 3 children, you will receive £1,200 – £1,395 per week.
All allowances are paid on a monthly basis (Calendar month).
In addition to the weekly allowances, you also receive:
- A birthday allowance for the child (paid in the month of the child’s birthday or the month prior)
- A holiday allowance for the child (paid in the month of July)
- An annual festival allowance e.g. Christmas, Eid, Diwali (paid in the month of the festival or the month prior)
- Two weeks paid respite
